David William Weisner’s music is a compilation and congruence of many different styles and eras of musical influence. Falling within the Folk/Rock genre his distinct sound has its roots in the sixties and the traditional singer/songwriter ethos of Donavon and Bob Dylan.  His music though has a much wider and deeper range of emotional intensity and styles.   Melody is the key here as David believes in a minimalist approach to recording and performance. In the spirit of the ancient troubadours it is the words and vocal line that are paramount.  David only performs solo and accompanies his voice with keyboard or classical guitar. It is through this personal and intimate manner that he conveys an emotional sonnet that reveals the depth of the human condition.

David is a free-lance writer and published poet and accordingly the lyrics are extremely important to the overall impact of the songs. The live shows are very intense and not something easily forgotten. David displays a level of emotional range and sensitivity rare for a simple solo act. With a powerful baritone voice and a four octave vocal range including an impossibly high falsetto, David has no trouble getting his point across. This is way more than just music to David, it is life and death.

Instrumentally there is no one in today’s music scene playing quite like this. As a self taught rock piano player and classically trained guitarist David has been heavily influenced by classical music and the blues as well as modern pop and many other genres. Improvising is David’s strong point and his keyboard solos can go on for a while as he takes the listener on a journey into his soul and personal dream world.  His rhythm guitar playing is very unique and he can play a wide range from the most sensitive finger picking to wild rhythmic patterns and improvisations with intensity that you would not think possible from the usually mild mannered nylon string guitar.

David Willaim Weisner was born in Brooklyn and is a resident of Staten Island, NY. He performs regularly in and around New York City.  His music is spiritual in nature. It has within it the goal of transformation and can take the listener on a journey if they are open to it. David finds freedom in the music and a connection with spirit and the universe.
