Dreams
May 1st, 2011 by David William WeisnerDreams of
desire
The Morning’s decadence
Pastoral proddings
of a gymnast’s
curves
To crave
the butterfat
of a dairy cow
And walk
hand in hand
with alabaster
You too can
share in the
common vermouth
And drink gin
on a cold
grey day
The black chimneys
silhouette of a
doomed factory
Churning up the
remains of black
sulfur lungs
The Earth is
choked by
strawberry’s ferment
And tied down
by grim tales
of Greyhounds and Ravens
We are arcane
Domesticated
Albatrosses
Destined for a
life of holiness
and straw
